It's SNOWING... and sticking!
I've felt it coming for the past several weeks, but it's officially begun (the cold season).

Mike and I have been living in our RV since April. We are trying to sell our house in Oregon and, while we don't really have a plan for how long we want to stay in Washington, we decided to keep things simple for now.
It's been really, really nice to not have to worry about house upkeep or yard work, the chores are minimal, we are free to move whenever we want, and the RV is big (34' with 4 slide outs), so there is plenty of room for the two of us.
It's been working out very nicely.
But now it's winter.
And snowing.
And really, really cold!
There is one big chore that I've been putting off (well, I've been busy with other things and thought it could wait) - I have the heavy duty vinyl material for an RV skirting (you know, to keep the heat inside) just sitting here on my living room floor. It should be a pretty easy job to sew a few hems into it so that Mike can hang it, but I haven't done it yet and I'm regretting that.
So, guess what today's project will be?

Other than the cold... and the whole skirting issue, the snow is a pleasant addition to my day.
This town has a pretty lake to enjoy in the summer, a few fall leaves in the Autumn, but it looks horribly dreary in the winter (very dismal and unappealing), but the snow coats all the gray and makes the area look sparkling and clean and beautiful!
Mike and I dropped our niece off at kindergarten this morning and then went Starbucks to relax and visit for a while. It was while we were there that the snow began. It was so pleasant to sit inside, in front of those huge Starbucks window, drinking our lattes and watching the snow fall!

In other news, I refashioned a shirt yesterday.
Just a tiny refashion, but still...
In the world of sewing, I've been mostly adapting things for my niece to wear and taking in several of my sister's items, but I had an almost new shirt that, in true Eve fashion, I'd managed to stain within the first couple wearings and it's been sitting in my "what to do with this?" mystery pile for weeks!
I decided to hide the stains behind some little flower-like ruffle things. I recently figured out how to use the free motion embroidery feature on my machine and so I put it to use again.
It looks a little strange in this photo, but it's super-cute in real life (well, I think so anyway... and my sister thought so when I showed it to her, so it must be fact)!

I feel as though there were other events that I wanted to add to this Fragment Friday, but the snow has sort of trumped everything else and I can't remember what those other events might have been.
Oh well.
Time to get to the skirting project before I freeze!

And in the spirit of
GIRLS NIGHT OUT,

which I've just joined for the first time this week,
here is a recipe for a little winter warm up:
A mug of hot apple cider
a shot or two of brandy!
I know, so simple, it probably doesn't even count as a recipe, but it goes down nicely and does a great job of keeping you warm and cozy on a winter evening!
